Larry E. Roberts
Bringing over 45 years of legal knowledge and experience primarily served on the trial bench, Larry E. Roberts is Senior Counsel to Taggart, Rimes & Graham. Larry offers Mediation and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) to qualified clients.
Larry’s legal career began in 1973 when he entered private practice in Meridian, Mississippi. In 1979, Larry was elected as Lauderdale County Court Judge, and served in this position until 1987, when he was elected to the position of Tenth Circuit Court Judge (Lauderdale, Clarke, Kemper, and Wayne counties). Larry served on the bench in the Tenth Circuit Court for 19 years. In 2006, Larry was appointed by Governor Haley Barbour to the Mississippi Court of Appeals. He served in that capacity until his retirement from the bench in 2015.
Larry is a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Army Reserve; he is a veteran of Desert Shield/Desert Storm.
Recipient of the “2015 Chief Justice Award” from the Mississippi Supreme Court, Larry served as the past chairman of both the Mississippi Conference of County Court Judges and the Mississippi Conference of Circuit Court Judges. Larry is the present chairman of the Mississippi Conference of Senior Status Judges. Larry also served as a presiding judge of the Mississippi Bar Complaints Tribunal and was a member of the Board of Governors of the Mississippi Judicial College.
A native of Lauderdale county, Larry graduated with honors in 1967 from Meridian High School. Larry received his Bachelors in Business Administration in Banking and Finance from the University of Mississippi in 1970, and received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Mississippi Law School in 1973.
